Fiscale aims to be an active partner to the communities that we operate in. The reason for this is that we firmly believe that if our local communities are successful, we will also be successful. As a result of our success, we’re able to offer more employment opportunities, resulting in our staff buying buying products and services locally.
To us, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is not just a buzzword or tick box exercise. We take it very seriously and are proud to be involved in many different aspects of the communities within which we operate.
We have an active training programme for our staff, offering training for both personal and professional development. Many of our staff members are on apprenticeships. We believe that by giving young people an opportunity to build a career in finance, we’re contributing to their futures.
We work closely with the Youth Skills Manager from ONE Haverhill Partnership, West Suffolk College, Cambridge Regional College and nationally renowned training companies such as BPP. This makes apprenticeship opportunities available to young people.
Over the last six years we have created twelve apprenticeship opportunities, nine of which have led to permanent employment. All of these employees are now being supported through their professional exams.
In addition to this, we will continue to offer apprenticeships and are fully supportive of the apprenticeship scheme. However, are concerned about employing young people at the apprenticeship rate of pay. As a result, we have a policy of paying above the apprenticeship rate. Furthermore, our young colleagues are actively encouraged to increase their responsibility and their remuneration is kept under regular review and is increased as their value to Fiscale increases.
Six months after launching Fiscale, we recruited our first Apprentice Claims Assistant, Madeline O’Mahoney. Fiscale came recommended by an industry colleague and we knew we had an R&D case, but underestimated the time we all put into new developments. It was only by thinking it through with Fiscale, during their first visit, that the reality shone through. We all get paid anyhow, so our “New-Stuff” efforts were absorbed in the day to day tasks and totally underestimated. Thanks for shining the light guys!!!Mark Ramsden, CPC Chemicals
