Fiscale aims to be an active partner to the communities that we operate in. The reason for this is that we firmly believe that if our local communities are successful, we will also be successful. As a result of our success, we’re able to offer more employment opportunities, resulting in our staff buying buying products and services locally.
To us, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is not just a buzzword or tick box exercise. We take it very seriously and are proud to be involved in many different aspects of the communities within which we operate.
We have an active training programme for our staff, offering training for both personal and professional development. Many of our staff members are on apprenticeships. We believe that by giving young people an opportunity to build a career in finance, we’re contributing to their futures.
We work closely with the Youth Skills Manager from ONE Haverhill Partnership, West Suffolk College, Cambridge Regional College and nationally renowned training companies such as BPP. This makes apprenticeship opportunities available to young people.
Over the last six years we have created twelve apprenticeship opportunities, nine of which have led to permanent employment. All of these employees are now being supported through their professional exams.
In addition to this, we will continue to offer apprenticeships and are fully supportive of the apprenticeship scheme. However, are concerned about employing young people at the apprenticeship rate of pay. As a result, we have a policy of paying above the apprenticeship rate. Furthermore, our young colleagues are actively encouraged to increase their responsibility and their remuneration is kept under regular review and is increased as their value to Fiscale increases.
Six months after launching Fiscale, we recruited our first Apprentice Claims Assistant, Madeline O’Mahoney. Madeline was recognised for her achievement by awarded the “ONE Haverhill Partnership Apprentice of the Year”, in 2015. In addition, Madeline has now been promoted to Claims Manager and is now responsible for managing and mentoring a team of Claims Assistants.

On relocating to Haverhill I joined R&D Tax Credit specialists Fiscale in August 2014. I was recruited as an apprentice Claims Administrator to undertake an NVQ Level 3 in Business and Administration. I decided to apply for an apprenticeship because I wanted to further my education whilst getting some hands on experience“.
Fiscale have been actively involved with the ONE Haverhill Partnership Apprentice Awards, since their launch. These awards were designed to celebrate the achievements of young people working as apprentices, along with the businesses that invest in apprenticeships. During this time, Fiscale has won “Apprentice of the Year” twice, along with being named “Apprenticeship Champion”.
Our work with local schools includes offering work experience placements to Year 10 and 11 students. In addition to this, we also offer mock employment interviews to help students be more confident when entering the job market.

I have been extremely impressed with Fiscale. Their team are extremely professional, take the necessary time to learn about our business and unique Aquarius framework and process our R&D claim in a very efficient and timely manner. The rebate we receive is vital for our continued research and development work. I would highly recommend them.Darren Hickey, Managing Director, Fellowship
The team at Fiscale have taken our leg work out of our R&D tax refunds. They are thoroughly professional, friendly and helpful. Having developed a clear understanding of our business, the team prepared all the necessary reports and documentation for each claim, which has allowed us to maintain our focus on our growth, via a cohesive research and development plan. They have advised us within our R&D function, both retrospectively and as we move forward. I highly recommend them.Charlie Dalton, Smart Garden Offices
